Nach dem großen Erfolg der 1. CGN-Convention im März 2023 freuen wir uns auf die nächste Veranstaltung im Oktober 2023.
Das Video zeigt ein paar Impressionen von der 1. CGN-Convention in der Motorworld Köln, die auch Veranstaltungsort für unsere nächste Veranstaltung ist.
Aber nicht nur die Veranstaltung an sich ist eine Reise wert, die gesamte Motorworld mit Car Storage / Showrooms, Michael Schumacher Ausstellung, Gastronomie, Shops und V8 Hotel ist lohnenswert!
After the great success of the 1st CGN Convention in March 2023, we are looking forward to the next event in October 2023.
The video shows a few impressions of the 1st CGN Convention at Motorworld Cologne, which is also the venue for our next event.
But not only the event itself is worth a
trip, the entire Motorworld

Hallo an alle Freunde der MGL-Convention!
Am 4. März 2023 sollte eigentlich die 18. MGL-Convention am Flughafen in Mönchengladbach stattfinden.
Leider haben die Umbauarbeiten am bisherigen Veranstaltungsort (Bistro) bereits begonnen, die Umbauarbeiten am neuen geplanten Veranstaltungsort (Terminal) werden bis März aber nicht abgeschlossen sein.
Daher werden wir die Convention nicht wie geplant am Flughafen MGL durchführen können!
Wir haben für die zukünftigen Veranstaltungen nach einer neuen geeigneten Location gesucht und mit der MOTORWORLD Köln Rheinland auf dem Gelände des historischen Flughafens am Butzweilerhof in Köln auch gefunden!
D.h. aus der 18. MGL-Convention wird die 1. CGN-Convention.
Der Butzweilerhof liegt im Nordwesten von Köln verkehrsgünstig in der Nähe der Autobahnen A1 und A57 (Ausfahrt 28 im Kreuz Köln-Nord) und ist mit dem ÖPNV (U5) vom Hauptbahnhof Köln gut zu erreichen.
Im Butzweilerhof, wo schon 1910 erste waghalsige Flugversuche stattfanden und der in den 1930ern als „Luftkreuz des Westens“ galt, ist seit Juni 2018 die neue MOTORWORLD Köln Rheinland am Start.
Ganzjährig geöffnet und kostenfrei zugängig, ist der „Butz“ auf einer Fläche von rund 50.000 qm ein lebendiger Treffpunkt für Automobilliebhaber.
Vom Oldtimer über Youngtimer, Raritäten, moderne Luxusautomobile bis hin zum Bike. In der MOTORWORLD Köln Rheinland finden Sie ausgefallene Fahrzeuge jeglicher Art. Passend dazu finden Sie die exklusiven Glasboxen zum Unterstellen und Präsentieren ihrer automobilen Schätze, spezialisierte Werkstätten, hochwertige Accessoires-Shops, sowie abwechslungsreiche Gastronomiebetriebe.

Wir glauben, dass wir mit dem Butzweilerhof eine zukunftsfähige Lösung gefunden haben.
Mit dem historischen Flughafengebäude und der davor geparkten Fokker F-27 ist weiterhin für ein wenig "Luftfahrt-Flair" gesorgt!
Außerdem hoffen wir auf eine weiterhin entspannte Corona-Lage und gutes Wetter, damit die Veranstaltung wieder in entspannter Atmosphäre stattfinden kann.
Leider führt der - auch für uns überraschende - Wechsel des Veranstaltungsortes zu erhöhten Kosten, daher müssen wir die Tischmiete erhöhen (s.u.).
Dies ist die erste Erhöhung seit der 1. MGL-Convention in 2014! Außerdem werden wir zukünftig eine kleine Eintrittsgebühr verlangen (s.u.).
Auch dies dient dazu, die Kosten zu decken.

18. MGL-/1.CGN-Convention Wings & More March 4th, 2023
Hello MGL-Convention friends!
The 18th MGL Convention was supposed to take place at Mönchengladbach Airport on March 4th, 2023.
Unfortunately, the conversion work at the previous venue (bistro) has already begun, but the construction work at the new planned venue (terminal) will not be completed by March.
Therefore we will not be able to hold the convention at MGL Airport as planned!
We were looking for a new, suitable location for future events and we found it with MOTORWORLD Köln Rheinland on the site of the historic airport at Butzweilerhof in Cologne!
This means, the 18th MGL Convention will now become the 1st CGN-Convention.
The Butzweilerhof is located in the northwest of Cologne, conveniently close to the A1 and A57 motorways (exit 28 at the Köln-Nord junction) and is easy to reach by public transport (U5) from Cologne main station.
In the Butzweilerhof, where the first daredevil flight attempts took place as early as 1910 and which was considered the “Air Crossroads of the West” in the 1930s, the new MOTORWORLD Köln Rheinland had been launched in June 2018.
Open all year round and accessible free of charge, the "Butz" is a lively meeting place for car lovers on an area of around 50,000 square meters.
From oldtimers to youngtimers, rarities, modern luxury automobiles to bikes. At MOTORWORLD Köln Rheinland you will find unusual vehicles of all kinds. exclusive glass boxes for storing and presenting your automotive treasures, specialized workshops, high-quality accessories shops and a wide range of restaurants make this a world class venue for our convention.

We believe that we have found a sustainable solution with the Butzweilerhof.
With the historic airport building and the Fokker F-27 parked in front of it, a little "aviation flair" is still provided!
We expect the Corona situation to be relaxed and that the weather will be good. So we are certain that the event can take place in a relaxed atmosphere again.
Unfortunately, the change of venue - which was also surprising for us - leads to a significant cost increase, eventually creating the need of a table rental increase (see below).
This is the first increase since the 1st MGL Convention in 2014! In addition, we will charge a small entrance fee in the future (see below). This also serves to cover cost.

17. MGL-Convention Wings & More
The 16th MGL Convention took place on 12th of March 2022. On more than 60 tables, visitors were presented models of all scales, but also many other aviation-related articles - as usual, of course, in the best weather and in a relaxed atmosphere.
In October 2022 the 17th
MGL Convention will take place. We are looking forward to your visit on
29.10.2022 between 10 am and 4 pm at Mönchengladbach Airport!
We had announced that the event would take place in a new location (Hugo Junkers
Hangar). However, as the airport is able to make the Bistro available to us once
again, we have decided to hold the 17th MGL Convention in the old familiar
surroundings after all. Due to the planned reconstruction work at the airport,
there will nevertheless be a new location from 2023!
We hope that the Ju 52 will be on the apron or in the hangar on the day of the
convention and can be viewed as planned for a small fee.
This part will be taken over by the Verein der
Freunde historischer Luftfahrzeuge e.V. and depends on the weather!
We also hope that the Corona situation will remain relaxed and that the weather
will be good so that the event can once again take place in a relaxed
atmosphere.
Admission will remain free. The table fee will not be increased!

16. MGL-Convention Wings & More
Hallo zusammen!
Wir - das Team der MGL-Convention - möchten Dir mitteilen, dass die 16. MGL-Convention wie geplant am 12.03.2022 stattfinden wird.
Die Convention wird gemäß der an diesem Tag in NRW gültigen Corona Schutzmaßnahmenverordnung stattfinden. Die endgültigen Maßnahmen werden wir kurz vor der Convention mitteilen.
Teile uns bitte bis Samstag 19.02.2022 mit, wie viele Tische Du benötigst. Tischreservierung bitte direkt an info@mgl-convention.de senden.
Aufbauzeiten für Freitag 11. und Samstag 12.3.2022 werden wir zusammen mit den gültigen Corona Schutzmaßnahmen mitteilen.

Hi, everyone!
We, the MGL Convention team, would like to inform you that the 16th MGL Convention will take place as planned on March 12th, 2022.
The convention will take place in accordance with the Corona Protection Measures Ordinance valid in North Rhine-Westphalia on that day. We will announce the final rules shortly before the convention.
Please let us know by Saturday February 19th, 2022 how many tables you need. Please send table reservations directly to info@mgl-convention.de .
We will announce construction times for Friday, March 11th and Saturday, March 12th, 2022 together with the applicable corona protection measures.

Wir wagen den Neuanfang in MGL am 23.10.2021! Am gewohnten Ort, aber mit neuem
Partner! Sebastian Steinbach von Flugwerk24 ist ab sofort mit im MGL-Team!
Leider bleibt das Bistro Winkens für immer geschlossen, aber wir hoffen trotzdem
weiterhin auf eine familiäre, entspannte und auch leckere Atmosphäre im Terminal
des MGL Flughafens.
Und trotz Corona hoffen wir natürlich auf jede Menge Aussteller und Besucher :-)
Anmeldungen/Anfragen von Ausstellern sind über die im Flyer genannten - zum Teil
neuen -Kontaktkanäle ab sofort möglich. Die gewohnte "Rundmail" an die
bisherigen MGL-Aussteller folgt in den nächsten Tagen!
"Von Sammlern für Sammler" - unter dem weiterhin gültigen Motto hoffen wir auf
einen gelungenen Neustart!

15th MGL Convention Wings & More
We dare a new beginning in MGL on 23rd of October 2021! At the usual location,
but with a new partner! Sebastian Steinbach from Flugwerk24 is now part of the
MGL team!
Unfortunately, Bistro Winkens will be closed for good, but we still hope for a
familiar, relaxed and also delicious atmosphere in the terminal of MGL Airport.
And despite the Corona, we hope for lots of exhibitors and visitors :-)
Registrations/inquiries from exhibitors are now possible via the - partly new -
contact channels mentioned in the flyer. The usual "circular mail" to existing
MGL exhibitors will follow in the next few days!
"For collectors by collectors" - under the still valid motto we hope for a
successful new start!

Leider hat
das MGL Airport Bistro Winkens seine Pforten für immer geschlossen. Die
Flughafengesellschaft MGL plant allerdings an gleicher Stelle ab Sommer 2021
eine neue Gastronomie. Wir hoffen, dass dadurch auch zukünftig die
MGL-Convention an gewohnter Stelle und in bewährter familiärer Umgebung
stattfinden kann. Sobald es konkrete Neuigkeiten gibt, werden wir hier darüber
berichten.
Unfortunately, the MGL Airport Bistro Winkens has closed its doors forever.
However, the airport company MGL is planning a new gastronomy at the same
location from summer 2021. We hope that this will allow the MGL Convention to
continue to take place at the usual location and in familiar surroundings. As
soon as there is concrete news, we will report about it here.
